Normalized Strikezone Maps for WS Game 2
Before you complain about a particular pitcher getting a particular call, I think it's important to look at the entire strikezone over the course of the game. It turns out, in this case, it's pretty revealing: Normalized Strikezone maps.
Essentially, Mariano Rivera didn't get any pitch called a strike that really hadn't been called a strike before he came into the game.

Agreed, but some trends are showing over the course of 3 games:
1. The Yankees simply throw more pitches in that zone off the outside corner that the umps consistently get wrong. Hamels was the exception.
2. Philadelphia has had considerably more pitches called balls that were well inside the zone.
3. Chase Utley has bad bad karma. I would love to see the plot for all called balls/strikes just on Utley, by count -- it's got to be ugly.
