Although he has not caught an MLB pitch in 2016, Jose Molina caught 59,643 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2013, including pitches caught in the MLB Regular Season, the MLB Postseason and Spring Training. In 2013, in 4,770 framing opportunities (i.e., taken pitches), he was an exceptionally good framer, which resulted in 178.95 extra strikes than would be expected from a league average catcher. This was tremedously valuable, resulting in 23.94 saved runs (worth approximately 16 million dollars).
