Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Andy Pettitte threw 14,352 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2013, including pitches thrown in the MLB Regular Season, the MLB Postseason and Spring Training. In 2013, they relied primarily on their Cutter (84mph) and Fourseam Fastball (90mph), also mixing in a Sinker (89mph), Curve (76mph) and Change (81mph).

In 2013, compared to other LHP:
Their cutter has heavy sink, has sweeping cut action, generates more whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' cutters and has slightly below average velo. Their fourseam fastball is straight as an arrow and has slightly below average velo. Their sinker generates fewer whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' sinkers and has less armside run than typical. Their curve has sweeping glove-side movement, generates fewer whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' curves, has little depth and results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' curves. Their change dives down out of the zone and results in many more groundballs compared to other pitchers' changeups.
