Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Kenny Rogers threw 3,425 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2008, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2008, they relied primarily on their Sinker (83mph), Fourseam Fastball (88mph) and Change (78mph), also mixing in a Curve (74mph). He also rarely threw a Slider (81mph).

In 2008, compared to other LHP:
Their sinker is so slow that it is substantially gravitational and has heavy sinking action. Their fourseam fastball has below average velo, generates fewer whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' fourseamers, results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' fourseamers and has some natural sinking action. Their change dives down out of the zone, has below average velo, generates fewer whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' changeups and results in somewhat more groundballs compared to other pitchers' changeups. Their curve has sweeping glove-side movement, has a sharp downward bite, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' curves and has slightly below average velo. Their slider has some two-plane movement.
