Non-MLB

Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Edgar Gonzalez threw 3,262 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2013, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2013, they relied primarily on their Sinker (89mph) and Change (76mph), also mixing in a Curve using a Knuckle Curve grip (76mph) and Cutter (84mph).

In 2013, compared to other RHP:
Their sinker has below average velo and results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sinkers. Their change comes in below hitting speed, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' changeups and has slight armside fade. Their curve using a knuckle curve grip has very little depth, is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' curves, has primarily 12-6 movement, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' curves and has slightly below average velo. Their cutter (take this with a grain of salt because they've only thrown 18 of them in 2013) comes in below hitting speed, generates an extremely high number of swings & misses compared to other pitchers' cutters, is an extreme flyball pitch compared to other pitchers' cutters, has surprisingly little cutting action and has some natural sink.
