Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Chris Sampson threw 3,284 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2010, including pitches thrown in the MLB Regular Season and Spring Training. In 2010, they relied primarily on their Cutter (87mph) and Sinker (89mph), also mixing in a Slider (83mph), Curve (80mph), Change (83mph) and Fourseam Fastball (89mph).

Their cutter has little cutting action, has slightly below average velo and has some natural sink. Their sinker has heavy sinking action, has below average velo and has less armside run than typical. Their slider has exceptional depth and results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sliders. Their curve has a sharp downward bite and results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' curves. Their change dives down out of the zone. Their fourseam fastball comes in below hitting speed and has some natural sinking action.
