Texas Rangers

Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Tim Lincecum threw 27,408 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2016, including pitches thrown in the MLB Regular Season, the MLB Postseason and Spring Training. In 2016, they relied primarily on their Splitter (81mph) and Sinker (88mph), also mixing in a Slider (82mph), Fourseam Fastball (88mph) and Curve (74mph). He also rarely threw a Cutter (85mph).

In 2016, compared to other RHP:
Their splitter generates more whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' splitters and has below average velo. Their sinker is so slow that it is substantially gravitational, has surprisingly little armside run and has little sinking action compared to a true sinker. Their slider has exceptional depth. Their fourseam fastball comes in below hitting speed, is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' fourseamers, is straight as an arrow and results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' fourseamers. Their curve has below average velo, has a sharp downward bite, has primarily 12-6 movement and results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' curves. Their cutter (take this with a grain of salt because they've only thrown 3 of them in 2016) has heavy sink, is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' cutters, has sweeping cut action, is an extreme flyball pitch compared to other pitchers' cutters and has below average velo.
