Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, B.J. Rosenberg threw 1,035 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2012 and 2014, including pitches thrown in the MLB Regular Season and Spring Training. In 2014, they relied primarily on their Fourseam Fastball (94mph), Slider (85mph) and Sinker (92mph), also mixing in a Curve (78mph) and Splitter (86mph).

In 2014, compared to other RHP:
Their fourseam fastball has some natural sinking action and has essentially average velo. Their slider has some two-plane movement. Their sinker is an extreme flyball pitch compared to other pitchers' sinkers. Their curve generates an extremely high number of swings & misses compared to other pitchers' curves, results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' curves and has a sharp downward bite. Their splitter (take this with a grain of salt because they've only thrown 16 of them in 2014) generates fewer whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' splitters, is slightly firmer than usual, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' splitters and has slight armside fade.
