Baltimore Orioles
Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2025, Jayson Aquino threw 269 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2016 and 2017, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2017, they relied primarily on their Fourseam Fastball (89mph), Slider (85mph) and Change (81mph), also mixing in a Curve (78mph).
In 2017, compared to other LHP:
Their fourseam fastball has heavy sinking action, generates a high number of swings & misses compared to other pitchers' fourseamers, results in many more groundballs compared to other pitchers' fourseamers and has slightly below average velo. Their slider generates fewer whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' sliders, is much harder than usual, has primarily 12-6 movement and has some two-plane movement. Their change dives down out of the zone and results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' changeups. Their curve (take this with a grain of salt because they've only thrown 17 of them in 2017) is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' curves and has primarily 12-6 movement.
