Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Paul Campbell threw 530 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system in 2021, including pitches thrown in the MLB Regular Season and Spring Training. In 2021, they relied primarily on their Fourseam Fastball (93mph) and Curve (79mph), also mixing in a Slider (87mph), Cutter (89mph) and Change (86mph).

In 2021, compared to other RHP:
Their fourseam fastball has essentially average velo, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' fourseamers and has slightly less natural movement than typical. Their curve has a sharp downward bite and has slight glove-side movement. Their slider is much harder than usual, has less than expected depth and results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sliders. Their cutter is a real worm killer that generates an extreme number of groundballs compared to other pitchers' cutters, generates more whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' cutters and has little cutting action. Their change is slightly firmer than usual, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' changeups, has slight armside fade and has some natural sink to it.
