Harry Pavlidis, The Hardball Times, and I have just released a new feature on Brooks Baseball called "Player Cards." Basically, they're like PITCHf/x Baseball Cards.
Is there any place that describes some of the numbers on the cards? For instance, what do the H.Rel, V.Rel and Spin angle columns mean? How do spin angle and RPM affect the pitch? Also, is there any way to get a selector on the pitch location graphs for year and pitch type?
These will actually help with the software thanks a lot for posting this. Sorry for the other post, I though the player cards are actual baseball cards with pictures and stats. Now I know that it is a more comprehensive graph of everything known about the player. It would have been hard trying to deduce/produce all these information
Question for Harry or Dan - Any chance you guys bring back spin rate, vertical/horizontal movement w/ gravity, etc. and if not, possibly include x,y, & z velocity and acceleration? I'm smack dab in the middle of my first quarter of engineering physics so my interest in kinematics is at an all-time high, and I can't think of a better way to apply my new found knowledge. Love what you guys are doing, just wanted to let you know that your work does not go unappreciated!
