Thread: Craig Kimbrel's Slider

    Craig Kimbrel's Slider

Had a few questions with the labeling of Kimbrel's slider. On the player cards it's listed as a curveball, but the other PITCHf/x sites all have it as a slider. Is it the downward movement that causes the label? The velocity of 87mph would be unheard of from a curve, right?

I had it as a slider originally, or actually a mish-mash of SL and CU. At that speed, pushing the -40 inch drop says "top spin" to me ... I could be wrong. Slider, slurve, or curve??

Harry -- I'm curious if there were any other pitchers you found who had a high-80s breaking ball with -40 inch pfx_z with gravity?

Henry Rodriguez is close, but a wee bit slower and a wee bit less drop --- he doesn't quite hit the -40/85 mark.
