Los Angeles Angels
Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2025, Aaron Loup threw 8,519 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2012 and 2023, including pitches thrown in the MLB Regular Season, the MLB Postseason, The World Baseball Classic and Spring Training. In 2023, they relied primarily on their Sinker (92mph) and Cutter (83mph), also mixing in a Change using a Circle Change grip (80mph). He also rarely threw a Slider (76mph) and Fourseam Fastball (92mph).
In 2023, compared to other LHP:
Their sinker has heavy sinking action, results in somewhat more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sinkers, has slight armside run and has slightly above average velo. Their cutter has heavy sink, has below average velo, results in somewhat more groundballs compared to other pitchers' cutters and has strong cutting action. Their change using a circle change grip is a real worm killer that generates an extreme number of groundballs compared to other pitchers' changeups, dives down out of the zone, has slight armside fade and has slightly below average velo. Their slider comes in below hitting speed, sweeps across the zone, generates fewer whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' sliders, results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sliders and has some two-plane movement. Their fourseam fastball generates an extremely high number of swings & misses compared to other pitchers' fourseamers, has heavy sinking action, has an obvious tail, has essentially average velo and results in somewhat more groundballs compared to other pitchers' fourseamers.
