San Diego Padres
Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2023, Anderson Espinoza threw 375 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system in 2022, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2022, they relied primarily on their Fourseam Fastball (94mph), also mixing in a Slider (81mph) and Curve (79mph). He also rarely threw a Change (85mph).
In 2022, compared to other RHP:
His fourseam fastball generates more whiffs/swing compared to other pitchers' fourseamers, has some natural sinking action, has essentially average velo and results in somewhat more groundballs compared to other pitchers' fourseamers. His slider has exceptional depth, is an extreme flyball pitch compared to other pitchers' sliders and has below average velo. His curve results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' curves and has a sharp downward bite. His change (take this with a grain of salt because he's only thrown 6 of them in 2022) generates an extremely high number of swings & misses compared to other pitchers' changeups, results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' changeups and has slight armside fade.
