Kiko Calero

Colorado Rockies

Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance

Although they have not thrown an MLB pitch in 2024, Kiko Calero threw 1,482 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2009, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2009, they relied primarily on their Slider (80mph) and Fourseam Fastball (89mph). He also rarely threw a Change (83mph) and Sinker (82mph).

In 2009, compared to other RHP:
Their slider comes in below hitting speed, sweeps across the zone, results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' sliders and has some two-plane movement. Their fourseam fastball has below average velo and results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' fourseamers. Their change results in more flyballs compared to other pitchers' changeups. Their sinker (take this with a grain of salt because they've only thrown 2 of them in 2009) is so slow that it is substantially gravitational, is basically never swung at and missed compared to other pitchers' sinkers, is an extreme flyball pitch compared to other pitchers' sinkers, has surprisingly little armside run and has virtually no sinking action reminiscent of a true sinker.
